RFA Fort Austin (A386) is a fleet stores ship of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary.
RFA Fort Austin was laid down at Scott Lithgow on 9th of December 1975, launched on the 9th March 1978 and commissioned on 11th May 1979.

In March of 1982 while returning from the Armilla patrol she was diverted to the Falklands with stores for HMS Endurance. On the 13th of April RFA Austin embarks a full Royal Navy surgical support team for the South Georgia task force.
On the May 11th 1982, RFA Fort Austin and RFA Resource take onboard survivors of the ill fated HMS Sheffield.
Five days later RFA Fort Austin picks up special forces and their equipment from the South Atlantic, after being parachuted from a Hercules transport aircraft.
RFA Fort Austin was awarded battle honours for her work in the Falklands War.
In more recent times she served in the Gulf War, in the Adriatic off the former Yugoslavia. In 2000, the ship was part of the British deployment to help restore order in Sierra Leone.
She carries a wide range of dry stores such as food, spare parts and equipment and ammunition.
